About Vidya Niketan

The School provides the facilities, resources and teachers appropriate for each stage of the student’s education. We place strong emphasis on conventional academic skills in conjunction with the all round development of students through extra-curricular activities. We are sensitive to the needs of those students who are not academically inclined, since our aim is to bring out the hidden potential in every child. Teachers attend workshops to hone up their skills and to keep abreast with changing trends in education. We have a committed and well-qualified teaching staff, who organize a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The school believes in encouraging a common desire for learning among all students. We try to sensitize students and instill in them a feeling of empathy & sympathy with the less fortunate. Communal harmony, racism, discrimination, the right to education, the dignity of the girl child, child labour are but a few of our projects.

We give equal opportunity to all our students to learn and perform. Music, dance, debates, elocution, Yoga, sports and games, art, quiz, chess, Karate, nature club and theatre are some of the activities students are encouraged to participate in. We also organize field trips, excursions and picnics. Students participate in inter house and inter School competitions on a regular basis. We believe parents are partners in their children’s education as home assignments and other interests followed beyond school hours are part of a continuous process of learning. We hope parents will support our efforts at home so as to help children grow up in an atmosphere of learning. Parents are given regular updates on their children, to help them keep abreast of their progress at school. We encourage parents to interact with teachers to foster good relations between the school and parents.

A young child learns far more from the actions and behaviour of parents than from stern lectures.

When you thought I wasn’t looking
(A few lines for inspiration)

A young childs observation

When you thought I wasn’t looking, you displayed my first report card, and I longed to bring another. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you hang up my first painting and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, you tidied up my room with gentle hands, and I felt loved.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you on bended knees, cleaning the floor, and I understood the dignity of labour.

When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you give your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don’t.

I have seen you in parks, lanes, outside, inside, with all those who cross your path, and I have learnt the value of life. I see you quiet when you hear sad news and delighted when it is happy, and I know you care – makes me care too.

For Mothers & Fathers:-

Imagine a little girl or a little boy looking out of their window and seeing a wishing star.

“I wish I could spend more time with Ma & Papa” they whisper.

And it could be your son or daughter.

You’re doing well in life, and you think you’re giving them everything. Tutors, Books, Computers, Toys. Fancy meals.

But maybe what they want is you.

When was the last time you went for a walk with them? Who are their best friends in class? Who bullies them?

Become a part of their life now. Or one day, you’ll turn around and find them all grown up.

Due to the crisis of Covid-19, a new era of learning has been ushered in. Students of Vidya Niketan have been involved in Online Education since the beginning of April 2020.

The character of the programme has been dynamic and lively, and the response of students satisfactory. This has further inspired teachers to put in their best, and to explore new and innovative methods of teaching.

These are extraordinary times, and have to be met with extraordinary measures.

We are all confined to narrow spaces, but the mind knows no boundaries.
